Best that you speak with your DSN about how much you should increase your Apidra by, I've never used this insulin so can't talk from experience.

I am not sure what type you are on. Personally what I would do is test in morning then not eat breakfast and see if I was still sky high. But it depends why type you are on as to how I would act on the findings x

I now use Apidra in my pump and have found that its action is a bit delayed in the 1st hour after eating breakfast, then by the 2nd I;m a bit lower, by the 3rd Im nearly at my target and then by the 4th Im at my target or just below it.
You may find that you need to adjust your breakfast carb ratio or inject about 20mins before eating...

Hi iHs
My results this am were:
7am 5.17uApidra 17uLevemir
7.30 2 weetabix semi milk 9.30 18.5 so I injected 5uApidra to correct
11.30 12.8
1pm 11.3
I'm so tired now

What carb ratio are you using at breakfast time for the weetabix? You shouldnt go as high as 18.5mmol 2hrs later. Also what is your correction factor?
iHs said:It may be that with Apidra you will need to use a bit more bolus at breakfast time - like 3 or 4u for 10g carb.....
If you dont fancy doing that, go back to Humalog and see whether your bg levels are different.... I'm wondering if there is something wrong with your pen or whether there is something wrong with the Apidra??
