Hi folks,

"Rebooting" of my med is the right direction. I am feeling better, esp. the tremor mystery (thyroid relative to med, or condition itself responsible). However, I notice a sharp increase in appetite, typical of this med, which increases my blood sugar and even without too much calorie increase will make me gain weight, partly from water retention.. I am not 100% stable yet, so I think when I reach that point, I may give myself some lax in the meantime, say 14 blood sugar post prandrial? Is that safe? I regret giving in to the influence of the anti-psychiatry party; some of their criticism is good, but moderation is best.

It would help if you mentioned which med you're referring to.

If you have an increased appetite which increases your blood sugar, what sort of things are you eating? Do you choose low/no carb foods?
You might find you can eat more without increasing blood glucose by choosing different foods.

Lithium (40 years, dose reduced by ER drs.- an excellent drug but requiring careful monitoring as it is in the class of NTI.
