apply for hgv

hello all, does anyone know if i could apply for class 2 lorry licence,
im type 2 on metformin 4x 500mg a day.
not sure what the score is with it all

If your only on Metformin there is no need to inform the dvla. If you are on gliclizide then you must let them know.
 
Type 2 diabetes, if diet or metformin controlled, is no bar to hgv 2 license in the UK. If you go on to gliclazide then you must notify DVLA and they will make you take a medical more regularly than the usual every 5 years (over 40yrs old). If you suffer hypo`s then they will probably take the hgv qualification away. Hope this clarifies, Chris.
 
As long as u recognise hypos u should be ok...im on insulin and hold hgv license. ..have to be seen by 2 consultant every year..bit of a pain
