Hello all. My question is in the title. If your hbalc is ok, at non diabetic levels, does it matter if you sometimes have a high carb spike? I am sure that I have read somewhere ( now can't find it) that it is the bigger rises of over 2 that will do the most damage. Is this still the case if the rest of your day is low? If your hbalc is fine, do you not have to worry about each spike? Even if you have a more than 2 mmol spike each day? For example, if you do omad, most of your day will be fasting. So you could have a higher carb meal that raises bgl from 4 to 9 and back to 5 within 4 hours. So a big spike but presumably an ok hbalc. Hopefully my question makes sense. Thanks! Should say I am t2d, so look at most things from that pov. But of course all knowledge is welcome.
