For a few months I’ve been wondering if i could be diabetic but I’m worried about going to the dr incase I’m not and don’t want to seem like a hypochondriac

Symptoms;

Thirst.
When i wake up I’m always thirsty. During the day and especially at night i tend to crave milk. This seems to be the only thing that will quench my thirst. It’s not excessive thirst but its enough to notice that i feel thirsty more than usual.

Dry mouth.
Leading on from the thirst, i often have a dry mouth and chewing gum eases this.

Urination.
Due to drinking a lot i urinate a lot. That’s a no brainier but i find i just urinate a lot especially during the day im always neeedig a wee.

Hunger.
If I don’t eat often then i notice i urinate more, possibly because i have little food inside me so all fluids pass through quickly?
When i do feel hungry I don’t often crave anything. But if it gets quite bad i feel shaky and weak and when i get to this stage even after i eat its hard to feel better again. Sometimes when i do eat i often don’t feel satisfied and still feel hungry after a regular meal and feel like i could eat it all over again.

Mood.
Recently i’ve been very irritable and snappy. More in the mornings and then evenings.

Feeling sick.
I sometimes feel like i could vomit if i forced it. I haven’t been physically sick for years but every so often get that queasy feeling

Feet.
Recently the top of my right foot gets hot. The only way to describe it is similar to having a hot water bottle on the top of my foot. It’s a very obvious feeling and uncomfortable but only ever my right foot on the top.
Ive also had a corn on the bottom of my foot for years.

Feeling cold.
To contradict the above my feet are always cold. My hand are always cold and both feel cold to touch. People often comment my hands are freezing but I don’t feel that they are that cold that it bothers me. The top of my right hand gets colder than my left. They never feel hot like my foot does. But during the winter i notice it more due to the weather.

Just now my right foot has throbbed hot for a few seconds and now its gone. Sometimes it lasts for a few minutes.

I’m not overly tired, i sleep well and generally live a good healthy lifestyle.

I know all these symptoms scream DIABETES but what it if its not?

Any advice would apart for seeing my GP which i am next week would be great. All im all i actually feel fine. I don’t feel unwell, sometimes i do feel a little ‘off’ but nothing bad

I sympathise with your symptoms and the concern you are feeling, but we on this forum aren't doctors and cannot diagnose you. Only your doctor can do that. Perhaps you could write down all your symptoms, make an appointment, tell the GP of your concerns and show him your symptoms, then ask him for the relevant diagnostic diabetes checks. This is all you can do I'm afraid.

As above. If it is diabetes a blood test will tell you if it is or not.

Maybe print off what you just posted and take it down to your Dr when you see him / her.
