My DSN and doctor have both told me I'm a bit weird with my BG responses. They said that MOST type 2's have high BG responses after food in the morning, but can handle it better later in the day.
In my case, T2 on diet and exercise only, I have a big carb breakfast, with a bowlful of mini shredded wheat topped with crunchy farmhouse bran, lots of low fat milk, a small glass of fresh orange, and 2 cups of white coffee. I've weighed and calculated and it comes to about 75 grams of carbs.
2 hours later, my BG is normally mid fours. A few days ago, it was 3.8! No exercise is done after brekky. Fasting BG before brekky about 6 to 6.5
If I eat only HALF that number of carbs (even low GI) in the evening, I'm heading for double figures.
So, I'm a definite morning person.
But are the doctor and DSN right in saying I'm weird?
I'd be really interested in knowing if you're a morning or evening person!
Thanks
Malc
