oh so its D DAY today my appointment is at 9.10 with nurse at the hospital must say im not too worried now , just the thought of injecting lol will let you know how i got on when i come back later on today.

Good Luck!
For me it wasn't half as bad as i imagined. I had to put the needle in in the nurses office. The first injection on my own took a few minutes, after that i didn't think anything of it

well i had it done and nope i am proud to say i didnt cry lol the first time and it didnt hurt or bleed and i felt fine afterwards until i had some brekkie. then tonight injection still didnt hurt but left a tiny weeny spot of blood , i felt fine up untill i had my tea but then few hours after i got a sickly feeling and still feel sick now my suagr is ok its 5.4 but dont know if this will get me through the night so im going to have a piece of toast and a pear in a minute lol i have a little bit of tummy ache but im sure it is just down to the day i have had as i been working myself up in a state the past few daysllol and i have a headache lmao but i can finally relax now and will see how it all goes from here.

Well Done

I know how you were feeling earlier today, things will get easier. The sicky feeling will stop soon so I have been told, I felt fine for the first couple of days until I made a tomato based sauce and then boy did I suffer.

Keep smiling

did you get a little bit of a tummy ache with it too jac as i been told to keep an eye on tummy and if get lot of pain then to contact my nurse at the hospital its not been severe tummy ache just a dull aching was just wondering if it is the sicky feeling making it feel like this ?

Hi Bexie,
Well done. An upset stomach (but not usually associated with pain) can be a side effect of Byetta, but not very common. The known side effects are nausea (57.1% of patients), vomiting (17.4%) and diarrhea (8.5%). For most patients, the side effects are mild to moderate and disappear in a week to 10 days.

Kind of DDay for me tomorrow. Going to push for byetta with my diabetologist. Sent him a warning shot email last week. I don't fit the criteria however.

Unfortunately, my foot is playing up, infection seems to have flared up since stopping antibiotics 6 weeks ago. Also, the midfoot joint has subluxed (partly dislocated) and some of the bones on todays xray lok a bit more moth eaten. Need to get more weight off, and I think this will be the main thrust of the argument. Here's hoping.

Hija Bexie

I had a bit of a tummy ache on Friday but I always get this when I get stressed out about anything - I must have injected in the same site cause it hurt and I now have a very small bruise; not had anything since though.

I did something really stupid last night I went to the Gym (yuk - hate it) and on the way home my husband text to say my meal was on the table so I went straight in and ate - Forgot my Byetta until after the meal so have had to skip a dose. My B/S wasn't too bad this morning 6.5 which is still lower than pre Byetta.

Hi Jacq,
I've done that a few times too - mostly in the morning. I am not a morning person and don't really come round until the 2nd cup of coffee. On occasions I have wandered into the kitchen, got myself some breakfast on autopilot and only when I have finished realised I didn't have the injection. Missing an odd one does result in a bit of a rise in my BS, but nothing too drastic and its back to normal after the next shot.

well i did my injection this morning all by myself lol tummy ache is gone now so thats good. but i have been feeling sicky all day but i know its part of the side effects and not worried now. its going a lot better than i thought it would. i did have to have a pear b4 bed as my b/s dropped to 4.0 as was worried i wouldnt get thru the night if i didnt but then when i woke up my b/s was 5.4 which is fine. will see how i get on later with me 2nd injection for today as i seemed to feel sicker last night after the evening one.
