i am so stressed at the moment, as you know, we tried the basal/bolus regime and it didnt work for us at all, so we went back to the Novomix 30 twice a day, was fine for a week or so and now her readings are all over, she tends to eat the same each day but the past few days her BSL's are really high, i've been correcting at least once a day every day, i never used to correct before as i never needed to, it seems to me that the novomix has weakened if that makes sense, she's on 4 units in the morning and 2 at night, would it be worth lowering it?????
just when i think it settles down, it jumps up anbd bites us in the bum again.

Hi. After diagnosis most people go through a 'honeymoon ' phase where their pancreas still produces some insulin which overtime gradually diminishes as the beta cells are destroyed. This process can be quick for some and for others take a few years. You may find that every few months you need to up the dose even though your daughters food intake hasn't increased.

Sometimes it feels like the goal posts are continually being moved!
