Asda Guidelines for People with Diabetes

What can't we eat on a Asda diet? Anything that will help us control our blood glucose without meds. It is seriously flawed advice. Which is more than matched by the dieticians that instigated it. Derek

Hello Derek. All businesses are interested in making a "profit" FIRST. Your health (or life) is NOT their main concern.

Cheers for the "clarification"... & jogging my memory regarding yer meds..
I'm gonna just say with regards to "covering the angles"?
You ran outta paint...

Got any spare?

I've never seen any advice from Asda for diabetes.
Tesco, yes, but I would love to see a scan of this leaflet.

I shop there regularly
Anyone else seen it?
Anyone got a copy?

You're just gonna have to give yourself a good talking to. Simples.

Hello Zand. In Uganda ladies like to be called "fat". Another description is "traditionally built". In one particular tribe, the Bahima, the ladies are bigger than the men (and I mean BIGGER) because they drink lots of fresh milk.

Hmmm maybe I was simply born in the wrong country then

Well if you go to a supermarket for advice on a serious medical condition, what else can you (realistically!) expect???

Go on.
I'll bite.

Finger prick testing, and told to go and see my doctor.

Guess you would expect a little map to the pick and mix maybe?
But, in the real world, not everyone is out to get you!

Oh Dear! I think I put the cat amongst the pigeons.
Not at all.. However, a copy of the "leaflet" either as a picture or scanned (as I requested earlier in the thread..) would be much obliged..??

Scarily, there are some diabetic professionals who are worse...

Enough to put Dulux to shame.. Let me offer up a "match pot". Your initial comment below..

Bearing in mind that Type 1's can cover their intake with insulin so this might not involve those who choose to eat like this -t still sounds awful.

So, where I was coming & how it read (far be it for me to pull someone up on the grammar.)
Was... You point out that T1s can bolus for the carb intake. So this might not "involve" apply to a T1 regime in general.. The choice to eat like this???
Thus a possible "disenfranchising" of the curious & open minded T1 thinking "what are the benefits of cutting the carbs to me?!"
I'm not in the habit of "preaching" LC. But I do support it.
Yes you explained your position elequently when I challenged you regarding T1s. But we didn't need "Bubbles ruddy Devere."
Yeah, I can almost hear the mocking "snort" in your earlier reply to me...

Some serious back up on the "ASDA leaflet" from the OP then I'm willing to make a comment on the advice allegedly issued by said supermarket chain... This thread is useless without it.

That's the only thing on the internet though.
And I reckon anyone under 5 should get a free tub of those chocolates.
Ideal hypo treatment if they happen to be T1... (He says ironically.)

Is this really any different from national health guidelines?

As a type 1, I can catergorically state, it is not as easy as covering your intake with insulin. It's a fine balancing act and hard as sh*t to get right. I give up with carbs.
Me too!!! Sounds great in theory. In real life...not so much

Screwed up attempt at humour Jay. Might have sounded mocking, but that's not my style, never has been. Unless it's warranted, and you and I both know a few wind up merchants (more fat, more fat!!) than warranted it.
Anyway, I'm going to retreat to my hidey- hole for a while - I've not got much to offer here atm!
Yh, hope we can get the leaflet on here.
