- People walking in front of my wheelchair, people talking to whoever is with me as I am obviously stupid! Lol, people moving me in my wheelchair out of the way, not asked, just moved! yes, it really does happen
I am about to go into Year 3!
It has taken all this time to get my levels into the normal range
I have quite a few different conditions and 2 traumatic Spinal Cord injuries really doesn't help. Being in a wheelchair, I am unable to exercise or lose weight. I have difficulty in finding the right metabolic level. If I eat more, I put on weight, but if I then cut down, my metabolic rate goes into starvation mode and I put on weight. I just can't seem to win.
I know that as a type 2 I shouldn't get hypo, but nearly every weekend my glucose goes down into my boots.
I am now taking green tea capsules x 3 daily. It's improved my life.
I don't tend to fall asleep after dinner, sometimes I would be asleep all night from about 7pm. I suffer from fatigue and I definitely have more energy. Hoping that I might lose a couple of pounds!!!
I have 2 different ulcers/wounds on each leg.
The left leg, was small and shallow, skin graft worked for 10 months and then started breaking down again. Had laser surgery and it healed for 6 months but it's broken down again and growing much bigger than its ever been.
My right leg started as a scratch, now it's 5" x 6" and down to muscle and have seen bone at 1 point. Nothing seems to be working. It's painful at the back but not too bad on the side but my left leg, WOW. The pain is excruciating.
I use lignocaine gel and get it back into compression asap but then the spasms start and boy do they hurt, the spasms will normally last for 2nights, 1 day free and then do the dressings again.
I am trying so hard to get my diabetes on track in order to help the ulcers heal. They have taken over my life.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
When my glucose is 4.7, I'm going hypo, so a glucose tablet and a banana and it's back up to normal.
I'm desperate to get them healing.......
I'll give anything a go
