Hi Captain!

It may be that you are doing everything you have been told to do perfectly (well as perfectly as anyone ) but what you've been told is good for you really is not.

What sort of things do you eat?

Would you please tell me more about your medications?

Great job on the cycling.

As Katharine says, you're doing everything you've been told to. What We here say is "what you're told isn't always the best way."
If you are eating "Plemty of complex carbs with every meal", you have found out that for most peopleit doesn't work.
Try a drastic reduction in carbs and you should improve pretty much immediately. And Katharine can give you the best available info on medication

Hey CaptainKirk,
I was your biggest fan back in the 70's there, so anything I can do to repay that debt is cool with me. If your blood sugars are running high, just cut back on the carbohydrates. The bread, potatoes, pasta, rice etc is no good for you at all so give those things a wide berth. The good foods are meats, fish, vegetables, eggs, dairy foods and nuts and these will sort you out.
Is it true you wore a corset by the way?

All the best,

fergus
