I do a modified Atkins and have been doing it for YEARS! I lost a lot of weight to start with, but now my weight is stable [if a bit on the high side0) ]

Yep, I have done Atkins Induction at only 20g carbs daily (ketogenic diet) when I wanted to lose weight and it is very effective and I now stay on a quite low carb diet all the time to keep my blood glucose levels stable. Me too! Not actually Atkins, but a very low carb/ketogenic type diet. My doctor actually suggested trying the Atkins diet when he gave me my type 2 diagnosis last Decemeber, as I need to lose a lot of weight as well.
