Atkins diet?

I use the LowCarb HighFat diet/life and reversed my diabetice ,I think it is similar to the Atkins but as I and many forum members have succeed with LCHF .I stuck with what works, amazing diet never hungry lose weight and reduce your BG to healthy levels

I think the Atkins diet may be fine and is effectively a low carb diet. Just reduce the carbs and have enough protein, fat, veg and non-tropicle fruit to keep you feeling full.

My doctor suggested the Atkins diet when he first gave me my diagnosis, but mainly as a weight loss program. It is (or was!) very similar to LCHF as already mentioned, however since Atkins died, his diet plan has become commercialised and as far a I can see, is no longer what he actually intended as they now push all sorts of pre-packaged stuff full of chemicals. So if you go with it I'd recommend following his original diet plan; I believe the only difference with this is that it tends to be slightly higher in protein than LCHF, and too much protein can also be converted into glucose - not necessarily a good thing if you're trying to reduce glucose levels. As a member of the forum though you'll probably get more help and advice here with the LCHF diet from fellow forum members, but there's plenty of information/advice about Atkins available elsewhere on the web.
