Atrial Fibrillation...

I’ve been to the GPs today where she told me I have atrial fibrillation and I need to see a cardiologist. She mentioned that I’m taking a statin but when I told her I don’t take the statin she asked why. I replied that I don’t want the side effects. I’ve got my cholesterol down from 7 to 4.6, which I thought was good. So I want to ask, what are people’s views on whether I should take the statin and whether diabetes could have contributed to my heart condition. Thanks

I was put on Rosuvastatin by the Cardiologist when I was being treated for AFib in hospital plus Bisoprolol, Digoxin, and a blood anti coagulant called Xaralto. I know have a another tablet called Rambocor to go into the mix.

I know my T2 was confirmed while was in the hospital, but that did not have anything to do with my heart, that was caused by the COPD I have that caused the lack of O2 under stress causing the heart to go into AFib.

I still take the statin after nearly five years, but what you take or do with your healthcare is your choice.
