Cigarette Smoke. People who need to be reminded a gazillion times that I'm still Deaf even though I have a voice!
So, I'm feeling quite peckish as the last time I ate anything was 07:00! I decided I would make a toasted Panini in the panini maker with a tiny dash of cheese and onion in the sandwich, This is as much to do with the desire for it NOT to 'leak' out of the sandwich onto the Panini maker as it does with the desire to not risk anymore tummy pain.......

Will you be testing your blood glucose with the panini? Enjoy it, but please test

;-) a lot of cheese and only a bite of panini would probably be a better choice... but hope you enjoyed you tempting meal...

Oh ****! I'm so new at this I had totally forgotten so Thank you for the remainder. I think there has to be a time after eating it that I test? I did only have a tiny one

Ok thank you for the advice I'll do that next time

Before you eat, one and two hours after.

Many of us don't eat breads, pastas, rice, potatoes etc.

I don't eat pasta either as I dislike how it makes me feel after. I like a jacket pot, sometimes with tuna? I don't know. I only found out yesterday so we're talking Jackanory

I find a medium jacket potato is fine for me, but that's just me - if you're new to this, you can't really beat trying things out and measuring your BG to see how it goes. It's all down to which gut bacteria you have in and in what proportion - some people will digest different things quickly, others slowly. You need to figure it out for yourself.

On the cheese front - if it's toasty cheese you crave, (and I totally sympathise), have you tried parmesan crisps? You can eat them with various dips - my favourites are taramasalata and guacamole. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/10148/parmesan-crisps

ooooooooooooh Thank you

Definately test before eating and 2 hours after, that way you will be able to determine what foods you can tolerate and those that you cant.
