The recipes allow for some sugar, but I always use Zsweet or Splenda instead which makes the recipes lower carb still.
carty said:I make lasagne layering with celeriac and /or aubergine ,if you have time to leave the lasagne in the oven for 30 mins or so dont pre cook the aubergine or celeriac but it must be sliced thinly. My meat filling has lots of onions and garlic and my cheese sauce is softened butter with milk beaten into it and then I add lots of cheese ,this way I dont need to add any thickener to the sauce after layering up grate cheese on top ,a sprinkling of paprika and a couple of slices of tomato
