I do not have diabetes
My girlfriend has T1 diabetes and hates having to calculate carbs, calories and the rest of her nutritional information.

I know there's MyFitnessPal,but she find this too complex for what she wants.

With that in mid, and this is a long shot, are there any scales that connect to a phone or computer, where you can simply:
- Put your plate on, put first item of food on
- Select item from food database on phone
- Reset, add next item to plate and repeat

Once you're done, its automatically calculated all the information

That is what myfitnesspal does. What does she find "too complex" about myfitnesspal?

Here is step by step guide on how to use it:
  1. On the app scan barcode of food item
  2. Change portion size in the drop down bar to 1g
  3. Put plate on digital scales and zero
  4. Put food on plate, digital scales will tell you how many grams it is
  5. Put this number of grams as the number of portions
  6. Tick to add the exact weight of the food you are eating
  7. Turn phone landscape and it tells you how many grams of carbs are in the food you are eating.
How is your phone connected to scales with food database any less complex? There really isn't any complexity with myfitnesspal.

If she doesn't like having to weigh/portion stuff (that can be a pain in the neck) then carbs&scales is good, that gives pictures of various portion sizes with carb content so it's quite good for eyeing up a carb value. Or just getting used to what your portion sizes actually mean, eg if you usually use a certain desert spoon or ladle to dish out mashed potatoes or peas etc then just weigh one spoonful of it, work out the carb content, then you'll forever know that 1 spoon of mashed potatoes is X grams of carbs, then it's easy to work out when your having 1 spoonful for lunch, or 2 and half for dinner.
