Autonomic Neuropathy

Does anyone have Autonomic Neuropathy? If so what symptoms do you have and how severe? What do you do to make life more bearable?
 
The hallmark and most bothersome symptom is orthostatic hypotension. It can affect either type of diabetic. The bad news is there isn't a helluva lot you can do for/about it.
 
Sorry you’re suffering with this wretched complication. I think asking your team to refer you to the best experts might help. I don’t have it myself but I gather there might be a few things that can help a little, it just depends on your individual case. Sadly there’s no cure ☹️

For orthostasis it's important to stay well hydrated. For extreme cases they'll use Florinef (hormone, causes sodium retention and fluid retention), with so-so results. For extreme cases that involve syncope the only drug used is midodrine, a vasoconstrictor that drives BP up.

Yes I’m on midrodine and fludrocortisone for it.

Had T1 for 19 years and the Autonomic Neuropathy for 5 years, it showed itself after major abdominal surgery, I don’t think it is Diabetic related as I have no peripheral neuropathy, but the consultant tells me I’m wrong!
