Average dosage of Levemir?

I wonder if anyone can help me - at present am on a regime of Byetta, Met and Glic for my diabetes and a host of other stuff for a heart condition!!!!

I know next clinic visit they want to switch me to insulin - I have lost approx 15% of my body weight on Byetta and really do not want to put it back on (have kept it off for almost 2 years now), so am trying to do a 'cost comparison' between what I am on now and what I consider would be the 'better insulin' option of Levemir, but am having a problem doing this accurately as I have no idea what an 'average' amount of Levemir to use in a day might be

I can get prices for both from various drug sites, but if I don't know how much Levemir I might need over a month, for example, then I'm a bit stuck to do a comparison.

Any help greatly appreciated as my appt is the end of this week :?

many thanks

There isn't an 'Average Dose' for levimer as you use what you need..

But I can save your number crunching, you would have to have a very serious insulin residence before the cost rise above the cost of byetta...

If weight gain is your worry, Lantus is the one more assoicated with weight gain, but if you keep to the portion size and food types that you've been using with byetta then hopefully weight gain shouldn't be a problem..
