How many a day to feel full, I’m going to start with one in the morning after my egg and bacon.
Can you eat as many as you like the same as eggs on keto

Avocados do contain carbs, about 2g per 100g, so OK but not like eggs (0g carbs)

Hi!

As far as I know, Avocados contain about 9 grams of carbs per 100g, but I'm not sure if it is a problem from diabetes perspective.

Avocados have lots of fibre that need to be deducted to arrive at net carbs which is quite low. This makes it an excellent fruit for diabetics. However, because of CKD I need to to avoid avocados, stemming from its high potassium content.

I've look at the data again and avocados contain about 0.66g of pure sugars for 100g, and almost 485mg of potassium so quite a lot, as you have said.

Its a bit like kids. I like them but I couldn't eat a whole one....
I think the point is that they are a fatty and filling fruit. If you overdo them or nuts or have lots of butter coffee your body won't need to tap into excess fat supplies if that is a concern. If it is just getting blood sugars and insulin resistance down then its game on.
Slight eco note though, like almonds they are thirsty creatures so it may be more eco friendly to eat some locally reared beef.

I use ripe avocados as an substitute to butter. I would not imagine eating it without any addons It's also a good ingredient of many salads.

In the UK fibre is already listed separately from other carbs, so there's no need to deduct it. It's (mainly) the USA which includes fiber with other carbs so is deducted to obtain net carbs.

I generally include avocado in some form nearly evet day (the fruit itself, avocado mayonnaise, avocado oil) but I'd agree that you can have too much of a good thing, so possibly look at a bit more protein rather than extra fats.

That's correct. I live in Canada, and we follow the same convention as the US.

The point that I was trying to make is that avocados are actually quite low carb from a diabetes point of view. The variety of avocados that we get mostly here in Canada is a relatively small fruit, about 100-150 g. I read somewhere that in Australia one gets what is called avozillas, that apparently is humongous (???????). Never seen it though.

We have them a couple times a week
Either added to a salad or usually mixed with scrambled eggs on a low carb bread or cracker .

Don't taste of much, needs lemon salt pepper chilli flakes, but as above , a little piece of food heaven

I find it keeps me full for longer .
A breakfast 10am & I won't feel hungry until 5/6pm...when I start thinking what to have for dinner

I too have to avoid avacados. My blood pressure med is both hyperkalemic and hyponatremic, which means that my potassium levels shoot off towards the moon, and my sodium levels drill towards Australia. I also avoid bananas, and tomatoes and worst of all - ketchup.
