Avoiding hypos

Recently for the past few days whenever I am going low I turn off my insulin pump then put it back on again when it's rising again and i seem to be having less hypos than before. I have a tandem t Slim pump and use it on manual mode as control iq just didn't work for me. My dsn doesn't recommend me doing this but am finding that I'm having less aggressive hypos than before. Does anyone else do this as well?

I find the tandem algorithm has drastically reduced my hypos but I do sometimes turn my insulin off if I'm on a walk where the connection between pump and cgm often gets lost. If the connection is OK then the pump turns itself off if I'm near a hypo....

The disadvantage with doing this is you need to remember to turn your insulin back on..
