After routine blood tests I was found to have a B12 deficiency, more blood tests Auto Immune Profile, Intrinsic actor antibody, all came back normal and I don't have pernicious anaemia, my serum vitamin B12 has dropped from 230ng/L to 77ng/L, my doctor said this is just below the 'normal' level

Is this a common thing with Type 1 diabetes? I have been diabetic for just over 50 years now. I've had two B12 injections this week and another booked for Friday, then two next week and every 3 months thereafter.

Thanks

Hi Sharon, I don't know if it is common with Type 1 but I'm Type 2 with B12 deficiency.. The B12 issues actually pre-date the diabetes diagnosis so I'm not too sure how connected the two might be! Good luck with all the injections, I know from experience they're not fun but are helpful long term.
