My blood pressure dropped significantly on low carbing. It was when I was on about 50g carbs a day. I have since felt even better on fewer carbs, but have not had my bp tested since.
LCHF, not an advocate but, 6 months in , 3 stone down on weight, in mid BMI range, BG levels at normal ranges, pre and 2 hrs post, speaks for its self, in my humble opinion, but still learning and doubtless will be for many years. Good luck all x
My bp has never been out of the 'normal' range, but it was near the top.
Then when I started seriously low carbing, it dropped to the bottom of the normal range, so I count it a blessing, but don't feel the need to monitor.
You should ask for a print of your lab results. It will be very useful to have them for comparison as you get more results in the future.
LCHF: as others have said, the health care professionals will very likely discourage you from trying it. They think we need to eat lots of carbs and not much fat. Like others, I found the LCFH diet very healthy. I lost weight, got my blood sugar levels under control and got off meds, lowered my blood pressure, lowered my plasma triglycerides and improved my cholesterol and just feel better in general. Good luck.
got print out of lab results, now on blood pressure med, cant have monitor and strips (good job i got one already) will just have to keep buying strips.Got to go back in 3 to4 weeks more bloods and see doc,
