This has always been a favourite of mine.

Back in the good old days, the maple syrup, and brown sugar wasn't a problem.
Made in the breadmaker, on the jam program.
So now I have a good chance to come back with some good old british bacon, time to try it again.
I have certainly no longer a sweet teeth, so intend to try it without any sugar at all, but the maple syrup used to give it a certain taste.
I may well try it with some maple chips, soaked overnight in the water I'll be adding to the pan.
Maybe I will need to add a bit of sweetener later, but I'll let you know.
(if you try it, I suggest you leave a few bits in it, and don't blend into a paste)
