bad side affects

hi have been a type 2 diabetic for 7 years have been on 3000mg metaformin and 1 gliclizide a day all was well untill I had a gastric band fitted jan 2009 managed to stop gliclizied and got down to 1000mg metaformin a day and lost 5st then started to have trouble with my band in october they took all the fluid out so I could eat normally and blood sugars started to rise so slowly increased metaformin untill blood sugars were more normal and was on 3000 metaformin a day. after abot 2 months I started to get bad side affects to the metaformin ( on the toilet several times a day) went back to gp who stopped the metaformin and put me on slow release glucophage but after a week developed a skin rash to the tablets so gp stopped them and put me back on metaformin 1000mg a day but blood sugars was to high so 5 days ago he put me back on gliclizide and now the itching has returned with like welts on my arms and legs. what is the next step don't know what to do now

hi there,your obviously having an allergy ,i would go see your gp and in the meantime try anti histamines for the symptoms, i myself suffer from allergies to lots of meds, its usually the e numbers in them or additives with me
