I'm not looking forward to work tomorrow. Everyone has baked a cake and we've got to try a bit of everyone's and then vote for our fave. I've found a low carb receive on here but going to feel so left out I'll be the only person not tasting not sure if my will power can withstand it, I will have a piece of mine but don't want it to be i'll eat my own and nobody elses. All my colleagues know I'm diabetic and not hidden the fact and they all know the struggles I've had over the past few months to get my HBA1C levels down to where they are now don't want to ruin all of my hard work but don't want to miss out either. Anyone any advice would you join in and have a taste? We're then all going out for a meal on Friday to celebrate the end of the school year which could potentially be another struggle and tricky depending what's on offer and the menu.

"Just say no" wasnt that the old anti drug slogan? Ive had decades of avoiding those things or refusing, people should and do understand in my experience. But i dont think they would push it even if they were argumentative as i have a good "dont mess with me" look. Good luck

I'd balance how good they look, against my BG.
It depends how many carbs you can eat, and what your BG limits are.

I usually say something like "I've brought chicken" my friends and family are used to me pulling out pots of chopped egg, chicken legs, packets of cold meat, crispy bacon strips etc from my handbag when we are meeting away from my home or at committee meetings etc the trick is to NEVER accept a bit of cake etc. People soon cheerfully accept that you can't eat cake and don't offer it. Most will usually provide something suitable for you eventually I find. Since everyone is bringing their own tomorrow could you not make a vegetarian bake press? Good luck x
