Has anyone tried the barenaked noodles (made with Konjac flour and soybean flour)? I had them for my evening meal and they were filling and not so different from the ordinary noodles. Carbs are 0.9g per 100g and sugars are 0.1g per 100g. The fibre content is 3.9 and protein 0.2. We had them with home made Singapore stir fried beef and vegetables. Although quite expensive (as noodles go) it made a nice change. I may try the other barenaked foods on offer.

Thanks for the info, love noddles and miss enjoying them without worrying, ive try'd the water noodles, not bad as a bit of bulk to a meal, but look very strange on yr plate as they are almost a translucent white and dont take on the colour of yr dish

Oooooh @Guzzler - you've got me thinking that it's an age since I made my prawn noodle dish - might have to dig out the ginger and coriander a bit later!

Haven't tried the Barenaked brand, but when the health food shop has one of its deals on I have been known to buy various brands of konjac noodles in bulk. I always snip them smaller with the kitchen scissors after rinsing and before chucking them into the wok, otherwise the texture is rather too much like overcooked extra-long squid tentacles and therefore not unmessy in the table manners department........! The snipping doesn't alter the texture, of course, but it does make them much easier to eat!

The only other barenaked product I could find was rice at a very decent carb count so that will be my next purchase to try. Happy guzzling.

Thanks for sharing
Ive tried several brands of konjac noodles / pasta and think theyre great, particularly when paired with other ingrients that bite into the 10g carb limit I set on foods. My favourites are the slim water spaghetti and fettucini packs - great as long as they are washed really well to get ride of the smelly calcium carbonate they come packed with. Ill look out for the bare naked ones and give them a try
The other low carb noodle option Ive been using lately are oomi noodles - higher carb count at 6g per 100g but infinately nicer with sauces made from things like mushrooms and cream. They are higher protein, made from fish protein but no fishy taste - taste and texture are just like normal egg noodles

Oooooooh thanks for reminding me of those fish noodles @badcat - I'd had a free sample delivered with my online groceries a while back, and they were pretty good! Might get them again!
