Basal test crashed

i was doing my last basal test for my new pump today no carbs from 8 am and test every 2 hours. 12 until 6 pm . but i hypoed at 3 pm so disappointed but now the weather is getting better i burn more carbs cutting the grass Etc .than during the winter. .it a good job i didn't get the cement mixer out of the garage .
PS .. Just showing off . don't have a garage just a sheet of tar poling .
 
Oh well... Try again tomorrow??
 
I'm cement mixing on Friday, choice of 2 cement mixers!!
 
Id leaving basal testing alone for a few days as fasting from 8am to 6pm is too long to go without food. The fact that you went low at 3pm indicstes that you will need to lower the basal about lunchtime midday to prevent the low so hope you've done that.
 
Did you test hourly? So you will know which hour(s) to change?
Personally if testing I like to do two days in a row. Only because I change the basals and then test to see if I've got them right....
However I only eat once a day at 5 or 6pm so everyday is a basal test day for me.
I have bolus testing days instead..lol.
Got 2 electric mixers...and a lot of hard work lined up!! So glad it going to be **** good weather on Friday!!

I am testing every 2 hours all my tests are on the advice from my DSN ..i upload all my results every 2 days and she emails or phones and we discuss any changes i should make. it all works very well. very pleased with my DSN.

PS. dont forget the sun screen
 
I think the only pump that might require hourly bg testing would be those that have 24 hourly basal rste time slots.

Good point!! I forget others haven't got them. Not forgetting the Insight can now do 1/4hrly slots now!!

I am using a medtronic veo i have 4 basal set and to adjust my afternoon lows i will add another and change the rate to correct the lows and now i have 5 basals
i am not Jewish but i have herd people say you cant have to many basals or was that bagels there lovely but high in Carbs
 
We can have 15 min slots on each of the 5 profiles. Although initially it is set up to 24x1hour slots. On Insight now we can name them too! I always used to forget which ones were which when numbered. Have one that I switch to for AM shifts, one for PM shifts and another for lie ins! Now all I have to do us to remember to change them over!!

Can never have enough bagels!! Although hot cross buns are lethal for carbs too! But agree with the basals..

Wouldn't work for me because of the physical work I do...but I very, very rarely ever change any basal rates. Probably about twice a year now with changing temperatures..a little bit when going on to Insight but that was just because I wanted to fine tune more and when I stopped all the dairy as well. with the named profiles nowadays its brilliant, just the rememmering on shift changes for hubby and a Fri n Sun night to and from the lie in profile!! Thats the worse thing to remember as lie in has a huge impact on me. Nowadays its been one change since February... So for me is actually less faffing around...

It was only 4-5 weeks ago since I reviewed my basal rates and I've had a couple of lowish bg readings this week and plan on doing some basal testing next week, so twice a year is very good DD, even on MDI I would change my basal insulin dose 4-5 times over a year.
 
I used to noblehead, but my consultant told me off for being too anal. So the Insight features has allowed me to back off totally.
**** day yesterday though when I had the set so far round my bum and thought I had attached it (couldn't see to do it) and it wasn't attached. After 4 hours I was off the scale!! So lesson learnt!! Gave me a chance to do a correction testing though!!
 

I managed to almost pull a set out by wrigging in bed one night last week - couldn't sleep, but luckily woke up when I felt it.

Have you managed to accidentally turn the pump off yet? I've doen it a few times, but luckily it starts beeping at me.

No cement mixers for me, built some new rasied beds in the veggie plot yesterday, shovelling 2 tonne of topsoil will be this evenings workout, if it gets delivered.
 
Haven't accidentally turned it off? How does that happen? Is that after a change off something like a tube? Mines locked all the time...

Know the shovelling of top soil!!!did that last weekend..

Raised beds from free pallets and a new one from the things that go on top of roofs nearest in photo but pretty covered up...
All free. Courgettes ready for the roof bed. Asparagus gone in the next, and 2 beds of strawberries with straw...love freebies.
 
Love those, pallets are a good idea, I've used them for compost heaps before now. Here's mine, wood cost me £30 from a local timber merchant, topsoil local to me at £70. Took about half an hour per bed to build and about 3 hours overall to fill and move a few plants around.

As for the accidental stopping the pump, not sure how it happens. I think maybe I've unlocked the pump to restart it then put it in my pocket and knoocked the button again, or accidentally turned the handset on and pushed screens in my pocket. Lucky it beeps at you
