How often should i do basal testing?

Depend upon a lot of factors.... if you have good levels all day and night, you wouldn’t need to basal test. If there are concerns around certain times of day or night then basal testing could be beneficial, changing over to a pump-good idea.

It really depends upon your need to basal test...

So basically as the need calls for it

Check around online, you might be able to find a cheap reader and sensor to at least try it for a couple weeks.
We have a Libre here and one sensor costs 30$ but that's not the issue

Well more of private reasons.. sorry
Can't help you there, but if circumstances change I highly recommend it. There is so much more going on that you can't see from periodic meter testing alone .
