Bayer Contour Next Monitor

Must be Christmas or my birthday or summat. Just found a card behind the front door this morning which said "we tried to deliver a package this morning but it was too big to go through the letter box. You can pick it up................blah blah blah". I hadn't ordered anything, so what could this be I wondered. Anyway, went to pick it up and to my surprise it was brand new Bayer Contour Next with strips and lancets etc etc. Then I remembered that I'd entered a competition when I first signed up on this site to win one of these in a draw type thing. After reading up about it and checking the description as to what it can do etc, I'm gonna start using this one in the new year when my other testers strips have run out, basically because this new one does a lot more. Even comes with PC software downloadable from their website. Oh Joy, don't yer just love Chrimbo.:D

Does anyone else have one and if so what do they think of them.
 
Used both the Contour USB and Contour USB Next meter before changing to my current meter, they are both excellent meters and never had any issues.
 
We've been away all week so found a card when we arrived home yesterday. Same as you adrian207, couldn't remember ordering anything and was surprised to find the Contour waiting at the post office. Sheet that came with it said that I'd tried the competition after it had closed but sent me one anyway! :cool:

Be careful when you try to insert the needle thingy. It says "twist 1/4 turn" do just that, then push the needle thing right in until it clicks before removing the round cap that you just twisted. I also wondered about the different coloured needle things and can't think why they would be different, so if you find out could you let me know please.:happy:

PS.............DO NOT THROW THE ROUND CAP AWAY!! you need it to stick your used needle thing back into for when you throw it away.
 
I have a Contour Next. I quite like it though I initially thought it was too light. I used to have a Contour and use the lancet from that as I find the new one hurts more.
I like that I can set my targets and find the logbook and trends quite helpful.
As for the colors, I think maybe just to change things up some. They used to be just grey.
