beef-up-your-muscles-reduce-your diabetes risk

I've given this a lot of thought in the past. It makes a lot of sense.

I did wonder if steroids would be beneficial to diabetics (in order build muscle mass) but it turns out that some steroids actually LEAD to diabetes. There are users of this forum with experience of this.

I'm definitely going to try to build some muscle mass following some more significant weight loss.

Have heard of it... will have a read.. many thanks!
Curious the double use of the term "resistance" almost a pun mayhap. Never liked the term "insulin resistance"... sounds too electrical!

Another good reason to "beef up"!

As we grow older, our skeletal muscles tend to wither and weaken, a phenomenon known as sarcopenia. Sarcopenia, which begins to appear at around age 40 and accelerates after 75, is a major cause of disability in the elderly. Exercise can help counter the effects of age-related muscle loss. Otherwise, there are no established treatments.
