Hello All,
I have been suffering from Periforal Neuropathy for about 6 months now.
Since my initial dx in Feb of type 2 and a HBA1C of 9.7 I am now down to 5.3 with fasting at anywhere from 4.7 to 6.5 depending on the phases of the moon probably! And PP of around 5-7.5
Anyway I am not so concerned with my diabetes with the number I am getting I try and eat a beneficial diet with lots of green veg and what I would say is a lower amount of carbs and I think my numbers over the last 6 months have shown that I seem to know roughly what my body does and doesn't like.
However the Neuropathy is really starting to annoy me. I have tried to judge whether it is linked with my BG numbers on a day to day basis and I don't think it really is. I do have minor Disc Degeneration at l4 l5 but my endo says that for certain is not contributing to the pain I am in. I kind of half believe him but haven't have a face to face with him and wont get one for a couple of months.
I have been to the pain clinic and I am on about 900mg of Gabapentin presently, I crashed out of using Cymbalta and Tramadol with my body taking an instant dislike to the former and too much of a liking to the later, I felt an addiction coming on so tapered off and noticed that it wasn't really doing much for the pain anyway.
So now I am in clutching at straws territory but I am mindful that there are many pedlars of snake oil and quackery in the realm to which I am travelling, however I am a believer in good nutritional health and supplementation and would hope that some ol' timers with the benefit of their wisdom and experience could steer me in a favourable direction.
Now I am well aware that certain individuals with a low posting ratio and links to revenue generating websites may wish to contribute which is why I might suggest a PM to me as opposed broadcasting any knowledge right here on the forum, however I shall leave the method of wisdom impartation up to you. I just want to make sure I don't unwittingly contribute to any potential quackery further.
Many thanks for reading and hopefully to your contribution.
Neil
