Best Insurance Co for Type 1 pump user to USA?

Hi

My T1 pump using daughter is 22 (diagnosed aged 11). She has been offered a job at an American Summer Camp. However, today she was advised that the insurance would be £600 for the two months and is devastated.

Can anyone here recommend a reliable company that might charge less, please?

Is the pump part of your home insurance?

Might be worth giving this company a ring to see if they are cheaper if you take out their insurance because it covers travel for up to 90 days..

I'll check, but I think the pump is insured anywhere with our home insurance and so the £600 was just for possible treatment whilst in the US with no pump related cost!

Topdog are quite for insuring health conditions. I used them to go to the USA a few months ago and it was very reasonable. I'm only type 2 though.

However, my next door neighbour is in her 70's, has all kinds of very serious health problems, and is a groupie to an international band. She uses Topdog to travel the world.
