Hi All, sorry to trouble you with is but my G.P has given me two meters and said I can choose whichever one I want. So I have a Accuchek Mobile with cassettes and I have the Nexus Gluco Rx. Im not too sure which one to use, The accuchek would be better because it being an all in one so to speak. I drive a lorry and have to test every 2 hours while driving. Any advice please.Thank you for your help in advance.

Which online pharmacy charges approx £12 for the test strips? Are they for the Nexus Rx?

do you get your test strips on prescription or do you have to buy them yourself?

Hi Ian, You may have already made your choice since you posted this question three weeks ago. It seems to me that, because of your work, Accuchek Mobile would be easier, so that you don't need to fiddle with test strips. I hope that your GP is prescribing cassettes for the Accuchek, or test strips.

My local pharmacist charged me £12 for a tub of 50 strips for the GlucoRx meter I do hope you are not paying VAT on the strips you purchase as you are diabetic they are exempt from VAT.

BTY strips for the Tee2+ are less than £10 for a tub of 50 strips.

Many thanks for that Brekkie. I am thinking of getting the Libra just to see if you know what I mean

Hi Ian,
I have no experience of either of those meters you have listed, although having Googled them both, the Accuchek Mobile will no longer be available in the UK after 22nd August 2022, so something to bare in mind if choosing that one.

Being an ex HGV driver, I was informed that whatever meter I used it had to be a model acceptable to the DVLA, who require that the meter must be able to store a minimum of 90 days of readings. The model my diabetes nurse gave me was the GlucoMen Aero and I find it easy to use with instant results.

My pharmacist just charges £18 flat. No mention of vat exempt or anything
You should ask your pharmacist about it if you are on the diabetes register Ie you have a diagnosis and they are charging VAT they should not be or they should provide you with the relevant form to claim for a VAT refund.

Just priced up libre 2 with this company. It’s cheaper to get direct from abbot

Hello Thank you for the reply and yes I do get them on prescription which is a god send. I like both of them but I think the mobile one seems to suit me because of being in the lorry. Thank you
