Best Sugar Substitute

What is the best sugar substitute for cooking with?

I had a look in the supermarket and Stevia sweeteners seem to have very little Stevia in them.

I don't bake very often, but I'd still like to occasionally, sugar free of course.

TIA

I use either erythritol or truvia. I find truvia is a little sweeter than ordinary sugar, erythritol on it s own not quite as sweet so good for baking.
Stevia is always cut with something else in granulated/powder form as it is extremely sweet on its own. Check what it is cut with as some of the cheaper brands cut it with sweeteners that can affect your blood sugar or have laxative effects.

I've just used the Erythritol in a lemon drizzle cake. Tbh I'm not impressed. Next time I bake I'll try the Truvia
