Been type1 for 15 years. Not the best control, won't bore you with details. But lately my love life has taken a completely different turn and I'm with a man who wants a future with me. I have never thought of having children (previously 10 years with a bloke who didn't want any) but now, well I do :)
We haven't been together that long, but maybe preparing now would be a good idea?

Is there any one here who can tell me their personal experience good or bad? Advice would be brilliant as well.

Hi lucy

Glad things are looking up for you! My advice would be to get as tight a control on your sugars as possible. What Ive been told is that you'll need to go to your diabetes clinic before getting pregnant so they can advise you on everything (control, vitamins etc). Once pregnant you'll be monitored a lot but your sugars need to be at certain levels to remain ok for the baby. It all sounds daunting and something I'll prob do within the next year too but first things first, get the sugars under control!

Thanks for the advice, definitely will bring it up with my diabetes nurse. I know it's way into my future, but maybe getting control now would be best
