I'm particularly adverse to taking Statins because my Dad had high cholesterol and they gave them to him 10 years ago when they were still being touted as a wonder drug. At the time he had mild vascular dementia, but his deterioration whilst he was on them was frightening. They took him off them, and nobody ever admitted they had made him worse, but we were all doubtful. Since then, all sorts of nasty side effects have emerged, so I'm just not taking them.May have to find other ways of getting the cholesterol down if it is the bad one that's elevated, but will cross that bridge if I come to it.</blockquote>
