Beware faulty needles!

I just found out today - sorry if everyone else knows this already - that 1 in 10 needles is likely to be faulty and not deliver the required insulin dose .... which is why one should ALWAYS do a test "airshot" of 2 units before dialling up the dose. This no doubt explains why I get an occasional otherwise unexplainable morning high as up until now I didn't do an airshot with my nighttime Lantus but just kept the dial set for my normal number of units....

Others take note!

hya ,
i always test my needle before and roughly get a faulty one once every mnth so i think your right :D

Never had a fault with needles, although the old Lantus pens did seem to jam for no reason.

And it's just good sense to do two or three test units every time you prepare to inject.
