Quoting Jaylee: "maltodextrin. Which looks pretty pricey online." Does it really? There's lots of bargains out there if you shop around. lol.

Excess protein does raise my blood sugars, there's no ifs or buts about it. It's a fact. It has done since day one of me following the Paleiolithic Ketogenic Diet since May last year. Why would I want to eat carbs/sweets and inject insulin 5 times a day? The HCL supplement is for my low stomach acid (Hypochloridia) NOT for diabetes. I would still have to take HCL if I was injecting insulin. Thanks for your concern but I'm quite happy the way I am. So can everyone please stop advising me what I should or should not be doing.......Thank you.

I've always taken the trial and error approach. I trust no one and then I know what works, or doesn't work for me.

I think we just have to be very careful and extremely clear how we present our own personal "facts" which may not transpire to be "facts" for another person. We all know that when it comes to health and wellbeing, including diabetes, that one approach doesn't suit all.
