BG 9.1 where did I go wrong with my dinner tonight?

No sides just the meatballs and sauce and zero fizzy pop which is no added sugar

She's ok thanks for asking.

Hope your Mum is feeling better. I would say it was probably that you were under some stress with your Mum as it was not a really high carb meal that you had. As said if you get a higher reading than you think you should then test again after 5 minutes and you may find it will be lower

Hi Marie. Don't throw the other portions away. Try another one, testing before and after. If it is high again, then you may have to have a re-think.
To be honest, it is pretty pointless just testing after a meal. You really need to know what your starting level was.

Best wishes to your mum. Certainly with her being ill and needing an ambulance will have made you stressed and could be having an effect on your levels.

Thanks, I won''t be trying it tonight as I'm having chicken breast stuffed with mozzarella and wrapped in bacon with Mediterranean vegetables with basil. That should be ok. Gonna test before and after this time

Hi Marie,

You've had some great replies here.

All I can add is, think of it as a learning opportunity. The strangest things can cause spikes, and everyone is different.

- I can't touch strawberries. I don't even know how high they send me because I'm asleep before I get to the hour mark to test, but my Mum is ok with them. - An apple will send her sky high, but if my sugar is high, an apple will cause it to drop like a stone. Go figure!

Don't give up on the meatballs, but I would ditch the ready made sauces. Sorry!
