That's fab control,well done mark :)

Thanks for the reply totsy

I did not think that was very good at all, i try to be around 4.6 to 5.5 except morning when i and 5.8 to 6.8 perhaps i am setting my targets too high, just tested pre meal and am at 5.2 so feeling happier, i am trying to control by diet only so its a case of eat and test.

I have had days like that Mark and wondered if there was something wrong with my meter! My numbers are much like yours at the moment.

Hi Beshlie i though there was something wrong with my meter also so i checked with my spare i am just a bit jacked off because my bg has been around 4.6 all weekend, i am sure i will be around 5.2 after dinner, having 2 cod fillets broccoli and spring greens and a low sugar jelly for desert and maybe a couple of squares of 85% dark chocolate

Hi Mark, I don't know why our BG can suddenly change when we haven't changed what we eat, but I have had it happen the other way too, expecting it to be in the 5s or very low 6s and when tested it is in the low 4s. I don't think it's always because we have eaten something we shouldn't.

I know what you mean Beshlie i suppose i should be happy it is normally in the non diabetic range pre and post meals, the thing is i felt really good and was sure i would be in the mid 4s not that i feel any different when i am mid to high 5s, pain in the backside this diabetes, but i am still new to this diagnosed in December with a hba1c of 10.4 6 weeks later it was 6.5, got a hba1c test this month and hoping it will be low to mid 5s
tested bg at 20:30 down to 4.9 happier now

I'm glad your BG came down Mark, it does make you feel better. What I am aiming for is, BG between 4 and 5 and under 140 ml/dl (7.9) ONE hour after eating a meal. I have read that these numbers cut the risk of nerve damage and heart complications drastically. Like you, being new to diabetes, it is not easy getting to these numbers constantly, it's like learning a completely new way of living! Following my tea after one hour I was 147, but then in the 90s (ml/dl) at two hours, so getting there. I think portion control needs to be looked at now after losing 3 stones and sticking at my new weight for 4 weeks. In short, I want my BG levels to be in the non diabetic ratio constantly, and it sound like you do too?

Beshlie
