Hi,

I am T2 since past 4 years. My fasting BG is around 100-105 mg/dl most of the time (I check almost every morning) , then I go for a morning walk ( walking at the rate of 4 KM per hour) for about one hour. Upon return if I check my BG, it shows around 130-135 always. I wonder , how could my BG raises after one hour of walking? I believe it should come down relative to my fasting BG level.

And surprisingly if I skip my morning walk and instead do a similar walk in the evening , my BG before this evening walk is around 120 and post walk it comes crashing down to 80.

Means same exercise if I do in the morning BG increases and if I do in the evening it decreases.

So my question is what is the reason? Should I stop my morning walk and better do it in the evenings? My problems is that it is difficult for me to spare time in evenings , mornings are free for me.

Regards

Natural process at work, the liver will release glucose into the system to keep everything running, especially if no food has been eaten, plus, mornings are when the liver will do this anyway. It allows us to get up and function and find food. Afternoons, you've already got food in the system, a walk will lower levels as the liver does not need to do what it does in the morning.... unless, you run or do something demanding on the systems and there is a sudden need for extra energy to be suddenly released. Fight or fight response.
