Hi everyone and hope you are all staying safe. It’s been a long while since I posted anything here on the Forum.
I have been on insulin treatment (Novorapid and Lantus) for a few years. Three years ago I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer and underwent radiotherapy and hormone treatment. The hormone treatment (Zoladex) caused me to have numerous hot flushes. I finished the hormone treatment in June this year and declared cancer free. Unfortunately, I am still having the hot flushes. I had managed to keep my blood glucose under control throughout the whole treatment and since up until now.
I recently talked to my GP and she prescribed a course of tablets (Cyproterone) to help reduce the hot flushes. My blood glucose levels have since gone haywire. I stopped taking the tablet after four days. My morning levels continue to rise even though I increased my Lantus. My levels before meals are very erratic and it is difficult to gauge the amount of Novorapid I need to take. I am trying to speak to my GP again but nigh impossible to get an appointment!
I take four BG readings a day before meals and bedtime. My Lantus has increased by six units to twenty four but BG still going up!
Question: Do you think I should start having BG test after meals to see if I need to take adjustment dose to bring the levels back in line?
Any help or comment would be gratefully received
