Please bear with me I have only been diagnosed a few weeks ago.
Initially I was prescribed Metformin 850 mg 3 times daily and was managing to control the BG plus the added benefit of losing weight.
Unfortunately I could not accept the side effects of this med and asked the Dr to change me. I am now taking 1mg of Glimepiride (Amaryl) each morning.
Today my fasting BG was 114 2hrs after 1 shredded wheat plus semi skimmed milk 158. Before Lunch 108 Eggs, Bacon and Tomato plus small piece of Apple. 2hrs after lunch 64. I was cutting the lawn, just walking behind petrol lawn mower when I started to feel unwell and when I tested my BG it was 64
Why should this be?? am I not taking enough carbs? if not what should I have taken with my lunch, a slice of bread and butter?? :?:
