bg readings after one hour

Hi just a quick question please I took my reading before tea it was 5.1 , i dont usually test after one hour but tonight i did as i had 5 thick cut oven chips with my tea its the first time ive had these since before diagnosis my reading after a hour was 10.5 i re tested after another hour and it had gone down to 6.1 is this ok as long as its gone down after the 2 hours ? or should i aviod the oven chips in future? i had a portion of kfc chips over xmas and they didnt effect me at all :shock:

Thr highest lvel is at the 75 minute point for most people. Dropping back in the second hour is good.

Personally, I'd prefer not to have the high. I dropped 0.5% from my hba1c by switching to low GI and avoiding 1 hour spikes. If you are on insulin you can eat high GI so long as you inject about 20 mins or so before eating. Most people would be happy with those numbers, just personal preference really.

If you eat foods like chips your bound to get a high after an hour
