I too have been lurking on this forum since my diagnosis 3 months ago and have had the same problem with my FBG. For what it's worth, I'v discovered that if I have a salad for dinner the previous night with a couple of tablespoons of cider vinegar, my FBG goes down to the mid to high 6s the next morning instead of the usual mid to high 7s. Anyone else tried this?

Welcome to the forums @Mahagonny ,

If you've been lurking for a while, I'm guessing you already know about dawn phenomenon?

Some people on the forums have experimented with eating something small as soon as they wake up.

I'll tag @Brunneria , she may be able to offer some practical advice.

Good luck with this.

Thanks @urbanracer

Hi and welcome @Mahagonny

If you've been lurking, you've probably seen a lot of the different ways people cope with Dawn Phenomenon.
:)
I find that a small piece of cheese or a brazil nut stops mine in its tracks - but i have to wake up in order to eat. I havent yet found a way to stop it rising in my sleep.

I'm impressed that you can face cider vinegar like that. Some people drink it diluted in water. I sometimes cook with it, but i can't face the taste on salad or as a drink.
