BGStar blood measuring system

So i received a BGStar monitor from the doctor and ive tried installing the mgmt software associated with the device however its not compatible with windows 8. Does anyone else use this? Ive tried looking on their website(s) and found them to be a complete and utter waste of time.

Should i just bin this and try and get another more up to date monitoring system?

What does everyone else use?

A couple of things you can do.

1, wait for the new software update, which will also include the update for the mystar meter
2, use sidiary which i use, works very well with most meters

3, install the iPhone app and get the iPhone cable..

one point to note, is that there is a special cable for the meter not any old USB cable, so you would have to obtain the correct cable for any software you get

also the bgstar and mystar meters use the same strips, you could get a free mystar meter sent out to you then you would have the hba1c calculation feature too
