- Whelks,winkles... All crustaceous seafood except prawns. Can't do crab.lobster or scallops.
Don't like the way they are killed and cooked. Save our Scallops. SOS !!!
Also HATE evaporated milk.
OK.
So I don't monitor in the morning anymore as I know what my fasting level is and I always eat the same brekkie so it is a waste of strips.
I get the strips prescribed once a month and I get 50 per month. Considering I got through about 6 per day when I first found out I was Type 2... Well 50 per month is... Well, not a lot so I am limiting myself to 1 test a day like my DN said to do.
So tonight I concocted a lovely Tortilla or (Spanish Omelette if you like) starting with mushrooms, onions, cougettes, cherry toms, prawns and 4 eggs. (minimal olive oil) cooked it on the hob for a few minutes and put it under the grill.( No potatoes in the omelette)
I then made a large salad. Lettuce, cucumber and cherry toms. Celery, radishes and half an avocado.
Took a quarter of my 4 egg omelette and a liberal squirt of full fat mayonnaise...
In a glass I poured 2 units of Rose wine and topped it up (half and half) with fizzy water (Tastes the same which is a bit weird)
I are every last scrap.finished my wine + water and sat back and watched telly for a while.
Then I thought ****it it's Saturday and poured myself a vodka and slimline and 2 hours later I did a blood check fully expecting it to be very high...
5.4.
What is going on?
My readings have been getting progressively lower over the last fortnight and unfortunately I didn't check before my dinner but it must have been lower than 5.4? Yes ??
I always use a new lancet and wash my hands as the blood runs a bit better with warm hands and of course it's better with freshly washed hands eh....
Is it possible that my BG is starting to lower after just a fortnight of no tea and watering my wine down ??
My food hasn't changed that much really. A slice of bread less during the day maybe. But I eat the same as I always have done. I have always eaten a low carb diet but didn't realise it 'til I joined this site.
Oh...No baked beans with brekkie and no more bananas....
By the way my usual morning level is now 7.0 instead of 7.9...
