On a short holiday and decided on a treat with coffee at a garden centre.
Fruit scone with butter.
Glucose was at 5.4 when I started. It climbed to 15.3!!!!
Fortunately it’s sinking down as swiftly as it went up but a shocking ten points plus.
Usually my levels toddle along around 5-7 … be a long time never before I touch a scone again lol.

Treatment type

How did you feel through that period?
I'm finding that the better I get at holding my glucose and insulin down, the more sensitive I'm becoming to food with any amount of sugar or starch in it - I had an apple last night, and it just sat badly; I enjoyed eating it but felt ...off... for a longer period of time certainly than the amount of time I got any pleasure in the eating.
I'm not continuously monitoring any more, and I'm definitely not saying that a single granny smith is an evil, but I'm curious how this affects the way we feel, or is there an element of - I know that apple contains more sugar in it than I'm happy with, I know that I'm having it as a treat, I know that this has more to do with disappointment in world politics right at this minute than my need for an apple right now... and then I feel bad - is it my head or my liver that's really complaining...?

I didn’t feel much different other than my alarm going higher and higher. I was annoyed because I can tolerate some carbs in the evening and expected a rise to maybe around ten or so but fifteen surprised me very much.

Do you think a fruit scone put your sugars up more than a plain scone would?
