I’ve started eating fewer carbs but my blood sugars 2 hrs after eating are often higher than before the change.
I used to occasionally have carb-free meals previously and test below 6, now I’m getting high 6s and 7s. Does it take time to adjust? I guess I have to cut protein if not!
(I’m t2 and on Linagliptin)
I’m a bit confused. Do you mean the post meal readings now are higher than they were for similar meals weeks/months/years ago ? What about your pre meal readings? Are you starting out higher? How much are you rising by?
Have you seen a general deterioration in your diabetes? Over what period of time?
Hi there, I know you are on medication so be careful about that but what are your meals currently like?
Sorry one last question. How long have you been back to low carb? It could simply be you need a little time to flush out the store glucose and adjust to lower levels (your liver will try and maintain whatever it’s used to for a while). That all said it’s less than 2mmol rise and really quite good still.
the vaccines have altered a fair few peoples normals for a while. Keep at it. You’re doing the right things. It’s been 2 or 3 weeks so I guess it’s early days and I had my second vaccine before that, so fingers crossed my liver just needs a bit more time to settle — think I just needed to hear that from someone else, thank you!
It isn’t too bad a rise I know, just felt weird to see higher numbers than I’d had for the same meals before. Oh well, will keep going!
And it’s not
